Yerevan?? Tell me more...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yerevan

Armenia. The first Christian country. Mt. Ararat, traditionally the mountain peak where the Ark came to rest, is within sight of the capital, Yerevan.

(This is in Armenian, so you can see the alphabet which was created by a Christian missionary in the 4th century, in order to translate the Bible. But you can select the little English flag to see it in English)

Google maps is a great way to see what Armenia looks like from satellite photos... can't seem to figure out how to give you a link to the map... it keeps coming up as my house! But give it a try...

2/13/08 - M in Yerevan, L on the screen porch...

Always so good to hear from Michael; I've gotten so spoiled at being able to be in touch most times.... He says he's using a "dinosaur" computer in his apartment... I enjoy the results of being forced to use a different languaged keyboard...

Learning Curve: check the schedule!

Silly me. Michael is still in the air en route to Yerevan... doesn't land until 10:30 pm his time (1:30 pm here) Sigh...

2/13/08 - Waiting to hear from Michael...

I'm actually pretty good at assuming the best, but I still don't feel comfy when Michael is far away, until I either get a call, or an email from him.

Today he is in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. This is his 3rd or 4th trip; he has colleagues there, and one of his grad student advisees (Armen!) came to the US after Michael met him in Yerevan. Our family loves Armen, who has travelled with Michael to Italy (tough job), Toronto (in the winter) and will be with him in Barcelona, Spain.
